Lubricants for the Foil and Film Industry

Lubricants for the Foil and Film Industry

Lubricants are critical to the overall efficiency of the foil and film stretching process especially the chains that are subjected to high temperatures. This makes them a critical application and they must not be allowed to fail.

The lubricants from various OEM Lubricants suppliers have been designed to cover a number of vital applications in film stretching machines such as calendar rolls, clips, roller chains and guide rails. Continuously operating machinery such as film stretching machines need the protection of these lubricants during high temperature processing.

Many of the available lubricant products are environmentally friendly. They are specified and approved by many of the machinery makers who specialise in film and foil manufacturing equipment.

Some suppliers have OEM approved lubricants for the following machinery used in both the film and the foil industry

   Berstorff Dornier
   Ramisch Kampf
   Bruckner MHI

For example if you have this type of equipment, we know you can benefit from using

OEM Lubricant 40 which was one of the first lubricants developed for this industry and is still regarded as an industry standard. It is suitable for all driving chains and conveyor chains. It has a wide temperature range, with a low evaporation loss and a high load carrying capacity. It is used in many different critical applications throughout many industries.

OEM Lubricant 220 which is for lubricating chains in film stretching machines exposed to high temperatures. It is thermally stable, extremely adhesive, resistant to oxidation and does not polymerise.

OEM Lubricant 92 which is suitable for extreme conditions in the lubrication of deep groove ball bearings, and large rolling bearings, such as cylindrical, self-aligning and tapered roller bearings, as well as angular contact ball bearings. It has a wide temperature range, is chemically stable, and resistant to vacuum and radiation.
