Railway lubricants

Railway lubricants

Lubricants used in railway engineering must provide excellent water and wear resistance, protection against corrosion, and be easily biodegradable.

Passenger trains like the Intercity ICE express, and high speed trains like the ET 401, ETR 450 or 500, use wheel set bearings subjected to the most stringent of practice related tests, and use only railway approved lubricants.

The same strict parameters are applied to the lubricants used in suburban and underground railway wheel bearings, in such systems as Berlin, London, San Diego, Hong Kong and Melbourne.

The same static load tests and speed range tests are used for similar bearings on heavy freight and low platform box cars and wagons, by organisations like DB, France, Italy, OBB, SBB and FS.

Equally vital is the lubrication of railway track curves and wheel flanges, both raised rail and grooved rail types, to prevent excessive wear, corrosion and cut down rail noise levels.

Specially developed and tested lubricants from our suppliers meet these demanding conditions, and we know that you will benefit your rail and railway transport systems by using

OEM Lubricant 106 has good running properties, with excellent operational reliability and a long service life.

OEM Lubricant 84 which is a grease applicable especially to the rail running edges and wheel flanges on the train. This grease lubricant is biodegradable and is used in urban rail systems.

OEM Lubricant 85 which are universal oils for the environmentally friendly lubrication of rails, curves and points. They also get used on any machines and devices used in ground water preservation areas.

We have many other products, and we know we can provide you with the correct lubricant for your particular rail transport application from the large OEM Lubricant supplier range.
